I've had so many people asking me to make them graphics, and I'd say most of them are tag requests, so I'd just like to make this tutorial so people with Photoshop can make their own I'll share the secrets of the tag-making industry, so here is it:
Tag Tutorial
Step One
To begin with, you need to create a new canvas sized: 350 by 20 (350 being the width, and 20 therefore being the height )
Step Two
Next you need to choose the background you want to base your tag upon, you could use:
Your tag should look similar to this at this stage:
Step Three
Once you've completed the base material for your tag, you must then download a font called '04b_08', yes I know, but I didn't make the font name (You can download the font from http://www.dafont.com) You then must then type in the text you want on your tag on the right hand side.
Note: Remember, the font size must be 8 (pixels) and you need to turn off Anti-Aliasing:
Step Four
Right of the screen you'll see this:
Where I've highlighted in blue, you need to right click, and then click on Blending Options.
Step Five
You should now see this window:
Change the Color Overlay to complete white, then change the 'Stroke' to a width of 1 (pixel) and change that colour to black, if done correctly, you should end up with a similar tag to this:
Step Six
Now you've added your text, and have a background of somesort, you now need your object image to fill up the space on the left-hand side. Whatever your tag is based on, the image should reflect. The image should be small enough to fit in the space and look acceptable.
Step Seven
Now all you need to add is the ellipse that gives the 3D look to the tag, to do this you must make a white ellipse that is much longer than what it is high:
Once you've added this, you need to take down the opacity to about 40%-50%. Your tag is now complete!
Thanks for checking out my tutorial I hope it helped.
